Working on previous diagram (from a-n)

 Health

I’m going through it today because I’m completing assessment forms for ADHD, and it’s making me reflect on my life again regarding mental health and times when I didn’t live up to neurotypical expectations. To add to this, I have plantar fasciitis from working in a factory for a decade. The problem started a few months after I left because of the shock of going from standing and walking 12 hours a day to a lot less. At least I hope I have plantar fasciitis and not arthritis, because I heard it runs in my mum’s side of the family.

Diagram

I made a diagram in 2015 in my previous BA Fine Art sketchbook, and during a tutorial, a tutor said, ‘That’s politics!’ At the time, I didn’t think too much of it, because I didn’t know a lot about it, having grown up in an apolitical household. It was a very nuclear family where the dad was the head of the house. I think I was shielded from it because, like sex, it was deliberately not spoken about in the house. I just thought of politics as something we see on BBC Parliament.

But it’s actually not true. I experienced it constantly without knowing. This is why I didn’t like school, because I saw it without realising what it was. I suspect that this is probably also why I don’t like work too. Being in solitude is when I like it the best.

I drew a white circle where all the spheres venn up. To add to it today, I would call it cultural relevance. I saw an example of it from the Met Gala 2026, where Jeff Bezos sponsored it so he could be culturally relevant. Thinking about it, I’m seeing a pattern of wealthy, powerful people wanting to be in this white circle, where they are constantly relevant.

I see where that tutor’s talking about now.
